From the Crown Jewels to Big Ben and the London Bridge, the UK’s capital offers many infamous tourist destinations. But the world-class shopping is so fabulous that it would be silly not to at least do some poking around. (Even if it means skipping out one of the classic sights.)
Here are some of my favorite places to pick up everything from tchotchkes to treasures.
1The Must See

London’s hottest shopping destination is a pair of Victorian sheds by a canal where London used to keep its coal. Now, reimagined by zeitgeisty designer Thomas Heatherwick, Coal Drops Yard is the crowning glory of King’s Cross — a once seedy London neighborhood that’s now the buzziest in the city. Coal Drops Yard officially opened on October 26th and is wowing the critics with its reworking of the original Victorian industrial architecture. When you’ve finished taking your Instagram shots, explore the carefully curated stores including Ally Capellino (bags), Miller Harris (fragrance) and Paul Smith, with lots more — including pop-ups — along the way.
