Uber Jews: 10 super successful members of the tribe

Do you feel a bit verklempt when our fellow Jews make it to the top? I do. I take it to an extreme — I’m like everyone’s proud Jewish mom bragging about her kids. But really, each one of these impressive Jews has had an impact on the world in their own unique way. Together they demonstrate the diversity and talent of the Jewish people. Here are ten examples of the best of the Tribe.

    1Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman herself, Gadot is an inspiration to all of us, using her status as a superstar to inspire others to believe in themselves and their potential to do good. This speech she gave at the Critics Choice Awards is a perfect example of her honest encouragement.

    2Lior Suchard

Maybe you’ve seen this Israeli mentalist on the Kardashian’s show and social media. What this guy is capable of will blow your mind away. His first appearance was on The Successor, Uri Geller’s Israeli TV show. He has performed all over the world, appearing in the U.S on programs such as Good Morning America and The View.

    3Mayim Bialik

First and foremost Mayim Bialik is a proud Jew. In her own words, she’s an “aspiring Modern Orthodox” as well as a “staunch Zionist.” She’s also an amazing American actress, author, and if that’s not enough, she’s also a neuroscientist. Best known for her role in The Big Bang Theory, she also starred in the 90s teen sitcom Blossom.

Matisyahu is a Jewish-American Reggae singer. His unique music blends orthodox Jewish themes with Reggae, Rock, and Hip-Hop beatboxing sounds.

    5Alber Elbaz

A Moroccan-Israeli fashion designer, Elbaz was born in Casablanca, and immigrated to Israel with his family at the age of 10. He served as creative director of the high-end brand Lanvin from 2001-2015.

    6Omri Casspi

Casspi has the distinction of being the first Israeli ever selected in the first round of the NBA draft in 2009. Since then, he’s played all over the league; currently, he plays small forward for the Memphis Grizzlies.

    7Mark Zuckerberg

I don’t really need to tell you who he is, right? His company is the reason you can communicate easily with family members and friends, upload awesome photos, connect with like minds, remember important occasions, and, oh yeah, waste time.

    8Steven Spielberg

One of the most prolific and influential directors of our time, Speilberg won Oscars in 1994 for directing and producing Schindler’s List, a movie about the Holocaust. In making it, he claimed he “rediscovered the honor of being a Jew.”

    9Ada Yonath

Yonath is a crystallographer best known for her pioneering work on the structure of the ribosome. She’s also the first Israeli and first woman from the Middle East to win a Nobel Prize in Chemistry — Now that is impressive.

    10Elie Tahari

An Iranian-Israeli fashion designer, Tahari’s immigrant success story is a classic rags-to-riches story. He came to the U.S with less than $100, and today his elegant workwear is sold in more than 600 stores in 40 countries.
